Fabrication, Design and Test

Compound Semiconductor Process Engineer  (JobCode: FAB163, Location: Sunnyvale, CA)

As a compound semiconductor process engineer, you will manually take various size wafers through all processing steps needed for the fabrication of optoelectronic devices. This includes contact lithography, dry and wet etching, metal evaporation, sputtering, plating, wafer thinning and scribing. You will also be asked to perform diagnostic tests, including ohmic contact measurement, surface profile measurement and SEM operation. If your experience has been only with silicon processing, you will not qualify for this position.

Description

  • Perform multiple processing and verification steps routinely in a small III-V compound semiconductor fab. Handle and process wafers individually and manually.
  • Processing steps include: contact lithoghrapy, metallization, wet and dry etching, wafer thinning and dicing, visual inspection, and SEM.
  • Follow processing runsheets and procedures without supervision
  • Do all steps of processing on a wafer from start to finish. Visually inspect at each step to judge processing quality.

Requirements

Requires three years of hands-on experience with lithography, etching, deposition, and diagnostic testing of compound semiconductors. Silicon fab experience is not relevant. You need to be meticulous and detail oriented. Please do not apply if you have not handled and processed individual GaAs or InP wafers. This is a full time position. Local candidates have priority.

We hire energetic, bright, ambitious, high-achieving, and highly skilled individuals who want to make a difference. We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package including stock options, medical insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid vacation and personal time off.
